The running of the New Zealand Trotting Club at Addington Raceway in November proved a welcome tonic for Christchurch residents who have had a tumultuous year.
The public stand was severely damaged in the quake and had to be dismantled. It made way for Hirequip to build a 25m x 50m structure marquee to house hospitality and betting areas. This area was enjoyed by thousands during the day and was a welcome respite from the cool weather in the morning and sunshine in the afternoon.
Hirequip also built marquees for the corporate hilltop overlooking the track. Corporate clients and their guests were treated to silk lined marquees; full floored; clear walls to allow perfect visibility to the track; and beautifully decorated. Outside the marquees guests enjoyed stunning outdoor furniture to relax on and soak up the atmosphere.
Terror To Love was the big winner of the Cup – a Canterbury favourite.
In the inner track area Hirequip built a small marquee village complete with furniture for more corporate clients to enjoy race day action. Cup day was a huge success and we look forward to another great day in 2012.
